UTSA Roadrunner Football is here San Antonio!  And here with a BANG!  The debut game for the college football team was a record-shattering, blue and orange wearing, fan screaming, water cooler talking, all around good time.

With professional franchises like the Spurs and Silver Spurs Basketball teams, San Antonians have been known to take fandom to a whole other level.  So, it is no surprise that the inaugural game of the UTSA Roadrunner Football program shattered the current attendance record for a college team’s debut, 56,743 to 49,212 (set by the University of South Florida in 1997).

That wasn’t the only thing shattered that day!  Much to the fan’s delight, the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Football team dominated Northeastern State 31-3.

While not a victory, their second game was still an impressive show from the young team (only two seniors), losing in the last 19 seconds, 24-21 to McMurry.
